Rembrandt's - Children being brought to Jesus

Church of Incarnation Children’s Ministry

We would like to invite your child(ren) to our Children’s Chapel.  We are using Celebrate the Good News.  These weekly Chapel lessons coincide with The Episcopal Church calendar and readings each week.  We start out in church with our families and during the first praise song we process out to children’s chapel to return later during the service in time to participate in Eucharist.

During Children’s Chapel we pray, sing, and read the lesson for the day.  We are beginning to learn the The Lords Prayer and will continue to learn other prayers from our service.

Children’s Chapel is only a start for us.  We are very excited to be working toward starting The Catechesis of the Good Shepard.  This program originated in 1954 in Rome, inspired by the Montessori principles of education.  This catechesis has spread throughout the world.  It has been observed that children, even from the earliest age, eagerly seek religious experience and find fulfillment in it only if they are helped to live this experience in its deepest, most essential elements, without any “childish” overtones.  When these conditions are present, young children live their relationship with God in enchanted wonder and profound joy which gives them peace in the satisfaction.  We are blessed to have two people that have been through the training to teach this program.  We plan to start this program in the Fall of 2008.  If you would like to find out more information on The Catechesis of the Good Shepard please check out their website   www.cgsusa.org
