We're Glad You're Coming
Walking into a church for the first time takes a little courage — especially one with liturgy you may not know yet. Here's everything you need, so the only thing you have to think about on Sunday is finding a seat.
Finding Us
You'll see the RTS parking lot as soon as you turn onto campus from Red Bug Lake Road. There's plenty of room — no need to arrive early to hunt for a space. Enter through the main doors beneath the bell tower. Another church meets in the same building and uses the entrance on the right, so look for the clock and the center doors.
What to Wear
Come as you are. Some folks grew up wearing suits and dresses to church and still do. Others come in khakis and jeans. Still others find it a genuinely meaningful part of the Christian faith that God looks at the heart rather than at one's fashion sensibilities — so they wear shorts. After all, it's Florida. We have no expectations about clothing.
Bringing Kids
Children are welcome and beloved here — noise and all. They're free to stay in the service from beginning to end if that's what works for your family. If they'd rather join the other kids, they participate in the liturgy with everyone else and then head out during the homily for a Bible lesson, returning in time for communion. A nursery is also open throughout the service for little ones.
What to Expect
Our worship follows the pattern Christians have used for centuries: we gather, we hear Scripture read and preached, we come to the Lord's Table, and we're sent back out into the week. You'll be handed a bulletin that walks you through every word — nothing is hidden, and nobody expects you to know it by heart.
People stand, sit, and kneel at different points. If you'd rather stay seated the whole time, that's completely fine. Follow along however you're comfortable.
We sing traditional hymns accompanied by organ. Afterward, there's a light reception in the narthex — stick around and let us meet you.
Holy Communion
All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion here, whatever your denomination or background. You don't need to be a member, and you don't need to talk to anyone first.
If you'd rather not receive — whether you're not baptized, not sure, or simply not ready — we'd still love for you to come forward. Cross your arms over your chest and the priest will give you a blessing instead.
If you have a question you'd rather ask before Sunday, we'd genuinely welcome it. There's no such thing as a question that's too basic.
