Our Life Together

Incarnation Oviedo is a community of Christians who believe the truth of Jesus Christ as revealed to us in the Bible, celebrated in the Anglican tradition, and embodied in our relationships with one another.

Worship

Each Sunday morning we gather for Holy Eucharist, Rite II at 10:15am. The chapel is filled with the prayers and praises of people just like you - individuals, couples, families, college students, young professionals, retirees and children! Beautiful symbols of Christian redemption invite each of us into God's big story: the vestments of the ministers, the liturgical colors, the decorated holy altar, processional candles and the crucifix. Music lifts our souls to heaven- whether led by an organ or an acoustic guitar, a choir or a soloist. This- all of it- is our rich inheritance from the Anglican Tradition. We are blessed. Childcare and Children's Worship is offered for kids 0-5th grade. The festivities concludes with refreshments and conversation in the Narthex. Join us! You belong here!

Nurture

Sunday School and Weekday Small Groups are offered at various times and places around Oviedo and the broader Orlando area throughout the year. These gatherings are geared to helping us grow in our knowledge and love of God and others. There are additional opportunities to nurture our faith throughout the year, as well like the beloved liturgy of the Blessing of The Animals for the Feast of St. Francis, or the annual Advent Wreath Workshop and Lenten Soup Study. We believe in worshipping hard and playing hard and recognize there isn't always a distinction between the two! We happily affirm that the good news of the Gospel is nurturing us holistically - body and soul - and that this nurture takes place only in the context of relationship with one another.

Witness

Incarnation Oviedo serves alongside ministries and non-profits in the Oviedo and greater Orlando area in a varitey of ways. Each month, for instance, we set aside a portion of our Sunday offering to be sent to the UCF Knights Pantry, or Hope Helps, or The Seminole County Pregnancy Center, or the Boys and Girls Club of Oviedo. We want to bless those who are doing the work of God's kingdom in our community: feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, taking care of the widow and orphan. We are convinced that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was never intended to create an insular club, but to be a public announcement that all things are being made new. After all, having experienced God's love in Worship, and having been Nurtured in that love with one another, how could we not share it with others?

From Our Rector

I (Fr. Josh Bales) have learned that there are a few things people want to know about Incarnation Oviedo when they visit. So, let me take a moment to address a few of the most frequently asked questions and if you have more, contact me! There aren’t many “young” Episcopal churches out there! But we are proud to exist as a gospel ministry that combines the evangelistic drive of the Gospel with the rootedness of the Anglican tradition. Incarnation Oviedo was planted by the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida in 2007. For a number of years we met in the Chapel of Canterbury Retreat and Conference Center. Currently, we meet in the Chapel of Reformed Theological Seminary (where we started in 2007!). Our parishioners are a mixture of people from all walks of life: individuals and families, young and old, local professionals, UCF students, stay at home moms and dads, and retirees! Some are “cradle” Episcopalians and some are brand new to the beauty of the Anglican tradition. The Rev. Josh Bales
